Whitesnake - Still Of The Night. The walk up the board towards the end is so tasty and just fits the energy of the song perfectly.



Also, nearly all solos from Tesla on Mechanical Resonance (and their other albums a well). Having two leads going back and forth, or one harmonizing with/over the other was something new to the ears at that time, and I loved it.

But my favorite player will always be EVH. I could lay in bed and listen/play Eddie's solos in my head and not miss a note I knew them so well, at least before the Haggar years anyway.

Here is a fantastic dual solo by an obscure band out of Colorado, recorded live at Red Rocks. Great cover with a twist. Everybody shines but the solos are HOT!

Solos start at 3:30...but I suggest a complete listen.

Interesting thread. Even though guitar solos don't do much for me (especially nowadays), there have been a few that left an impression on me. Not to sound like a snob, but most of the "Rock Guitar Hero" stuff leaves me cold.

Still, if it gives me the proverbial "goose bumps" when I hear it.....like....

Stevie was a very good session guitarist before his debut with Double Trouble.

This live clip with his brother I always found rather inspiring.

This Live clip from Pink is a good one too, but you have to wait 5 mins. for the solo to start.

Zakk Wylde's guitar solo in "No More Tears" as previously mentioned, is pretty unreal and fits that song perfectly.

Another favorite...Dimebag's solo in "Floods".

There are so many out there that I've forgotten about, but those two are always in my mind.

Also, as mentioned before...Stevie Ray Vaughan's version of "Little Wing" is breathtaking.
