Favorite Hot Sauce.... GO!

Yeah I don't think MREs ever had anything but Tabasco. IMPs though, did briefly have Frank's up until like last year or something. I didn't know yours came in bottles either.

I might have to look at bull though.
I should probably specify that IMPs are Canadian field rations, different in small ways but adhering to the same NATO standards for nutrition and overall contents. Not terrible, all things considered, but there's only so much you can do with food that has a three year shelf life other than pack hot sauce and hope for the best.

This stuff is pretty darn tasty. Not super hot, but the consistency makes it a great topper for hot dogs or tacos.

Excuse the bad phone pic, but this is lingham's got sauce, extra hot. Not sure what is made with, haven't seen it anywhere, my girlfriend went to a concert in Boston a couple years ago and got me this in Chinatown. It's spicy enough for me and is a bit sweet as well, goes great on pasta and stir fry.

That looks good. I found it on Amazon. I'm going to try it.
Thanks for the heads up.
Do you have any experience with this sauce @Killed_by_Death?
I'm about out of the raisin sauce. It is most excellent in breakfast burritos.

Tbh I haven't looked through the thread, I'm working my way through that stuff and a bottle of sriracha before getting anything else, but don't worry, I'll make my way through the sriracha pretty quick ;)

I just now ordered this direct from the farmer in Japan who makes it. Along with a couple other of his sauces.

We sent a couple emails back and forth, he's a great guy. Within 10 minutes of paying, I was notified of a FedEx shipping label, then he emailed to tell me he was on his way to drop off my package, and that I should have it in 3-7 days depending on shipping conditions. This is his website if you'd like to check it out. I really dig supporting small operations like this with people who are as passionate about something as I am.

Coincidentally I picked up a large bottle of Shark brand Sriracha sauce today from the Thai grocery:

photo lifted from the net, ours is STRONG

that's great for eggs & sometimes mix it into some mayo
a dipping sauce for nuggets & stuff like that

We've been using nahm-plah-prik a lot, it's great with fried rice:

Nam Pla Prik – Thai Dipping Sauce Recipe - Great British Chefs

There's always an unrefrigerated, sealed container of it in our kitchen. I drip the Kimchi juice into it as well, so it's strong!

I have been eating that dipping sauce for years and had no idea what it was called. I love it.
Thank you @Killed_by_Death for dropping some knowledge on us. Now I know.

You may be delighted to know @Killed_by_Death that we have some friends in Thailand who are hosting a Zoom session next week to teach us and some of our friends how to make Pad thai from scratch.
Sure, there are tons of recipes and videos online already, but this feels more authentic to me.

surely not hot, it's refrigerated :woot:
For spicy mayo, I make my own. Just get some mayo & Sriracha sauce.
Try Wasabi some time, goes well in mayo. (pronounced wusubee, like sub sandwich)

I generally mix my own sauces for dipping, but for wings I will buy commercially available stuff & just add black pepper & cayenne pepper.
next time I will try adding some pulverized garlic

Seems like a Reaper chili sauce might be spicy enough for us.
There's a local pub that serves what they call DragonFire wings, which use Ghost chili powder. I should probably get some of that powder.

I'm too lazy. I want it ready to go when I want it.

I used to buy this stuff when I was in the Land of Smiles, it's extra-spicy mayo:

great for dipping nuggets

the label reads Saap Cheed, which means it will burn your mouth

If you look at the chicken, it's encrusted in spices. There's a version of wings & drums in Thai KFC called Wingz Saap, which are extra-spicy. I love them & wish our KFC made stuff like that!
