Favorite Hot Sauce.... GO!

I've only tried the green, will need to buy the red sometime to try it as well.
For scrambled eggs, hasbrowns, skillet breakfast, Irish breakfast, etc... this is the stuff right here. Made here in Spokane... Fletchers
It's not my favorite hot sauce, but I recently discovered Frank's RedHot THICK sauce = same great flavor as the original just with a heavier viscosity = excellent for dipping!
This also arrived in my order from Heatonist today.
Oh my is it good. Real good. It's smoky and hot, and not too vinegar forward. I'm not a fan of the vinegar heavy sauces anymore. They taste too much to me like olives.
Like the Small Axe sauce I mentioned earlier, the heat does not take away from the flavor of the sauce. You can taste the smoky peppers in there.
I always try my new sauces plain on a couple different spoons when I first get them so I can get a good feel for just how they taste and thus what they will be best in/on.
I don't cook with hot sauce at all. It is always a condiment after the fact.
I like how it has a little thickness to it.
I'm sure this one will get regular shelf space in our fridge now.

That sounds great, but seeing how it is from Louisiana, I am afraid it will be too vinegary for me.
Have you had it? If yes, how does it compare to the other sauces from Louisiana?

It’s not really a hot ‘sauce’. It is a hot relish. Or kind of like a Chow Chow. It’s nothing like Louisiana Hot Sauce or Tabasco Sauce. The same company do make a Daitil pepper sauce. The relish is not vinegary to me. They used to sell it at my local WalMart. Now I have to order it by the case.
I’m trying something new. Bought this one last week and it’s already half gone. I’m really enjoying it.
Garlic, cucumber and lime sounds really interesting. Does the cucumber flavor come through?
Yes the cucumber comes through initially and gives it a sense of freshness, but is quickly overpowered by the pepper.
I'm sold. Just bought a bottle on Amazon. Cucumber as a flavor in all kinds of things is underrated.
I like everything I've had from Yellowbird. Great company, great employees, and the sauces are rad.

This is the 1st time I try Yellobird. I only go to Whole Foods to pick up Organicville ketchup, and this time decided to check out the hot sauce section. I’ll have to try some of their other flavors.
Not going to lie, field rations, before switching to Tabasco sauce, used to come with a packet of Frank's. It gets flak for tasting a lot like vinegar and not being too spicy - and I get that - but I also like the taste of vinegar. Also, I have had to scarf down some pretty nasty food - not simply referencing the field rations here - the vinegar flavor can really help to mask bad tasting or otherwise bland and greasy food. Also - it's got a bit of garlic flavour in it, which is nice. The Tabasco that they replaced the Frank's packets with us definitely more spicy, and in applications is definitely better in a few other ways, but the lack of that vinegar characteristic can kinda mean it gets lost in some foods, and only meaningfully contributes just a bit of spiciness if you can even notice that.
A thicker version could work well for dipping stuff though, like you say, or it might be added to a pasta sauce or similar without changing the viscosity too much. It might also stick to wings a bit better.

I’ve never seen anything other than the mini Tabasco sauce bottles in MREs, which we never used other than pouring it in the mouth of the unfortunate cat who fell asleep, or on the lip of people’s canteens. Had to keep entertained out in the field you know. Lol
However the Army introduced me to Bull, found in every chow hall I ever ate at, which started my love affair with hot sauce. I also prefer tastiness over hotness in a hot sauce.

Yeah I don't think MREs ever had anything but Tabasco. IMPs though, did briefly have Frank's up until like last year or something. I didn't know yours came in bottles either.
I might have to look at bull though.
