Favorite non-musical accessories?

I got this office chair from Staples last year for my little home studio. It's very basic, but it's very comfortable and it suits my needs. And I got it for under $30!

An old lady shopping cart in which I transport my compact gear. I'm partially handicapped, am a gadget freak and was an efficiency expert before retiring, so I'm always making things as easy as possible. I also use it as amp stand and music stand and now has a cup holder, just setup the gear and roll on stage ready to go.

probably glasses, specs. at home i wear various strengths of bifocals/readers for various tasks, but on the gig i have a special pair for the compromise distance between the charts and my left hand (fingerboard).

I use glasses onstage too, but not my normal readers - I wear sunglasses, it helps with the lights. And they look cool.

I don't have to read charts though, if I did I'd wear my regular glasses. All I ever have to read is a set list.

This is a stock photo of my Amish murderer practice chair.

Very comfortable, folds almost flat for storage or travel, lightweight. Mine's made of quarter sawn white oak in a dark stain with a nice cushion on it. Feels great for practicing on.

I forgot about this one...it's a simple wooden folding table I got from Rite-Aid for $7 many years ago. It was advertised as being for eating meals in front of the TV, but I bought it as a place to put my effects pedals when I run my synth through them, and I use it as a stand for my 25-key monosynth. I also use it as a place to set my notes and user manuals as needed. It's very versatile in my home studio, especially for 7 bucks!

Oh yes, the little folding table! I have three of these that I've picked up off curbs at different times. They're ugly, sturdy, I don't care if anything happens to them, they're reasonably lightweight, and folded they take up very little space.

Not this exact one but something just like it. Makes a half mile schlep trivial.

Hey, I had no idea when I bought the chair! It wasn't until after seeing the label and looking the company up to check out who made it (and who this Eli Weaver fellow was, who's name's on the label).

Still, a nice non-musical accessory.

A case like this, not SKB, for transporting golf bags. Holds light stands, speaker poles, mic stand and one small toolbag. This is the one bit of gear that only comes out of the car and stays in the garage. Heavy but with a handle on one side and wheels on the other it's not bad. $25 local CL find.

Jeez, Chris, your SKB golf case photo almost gave me PTSD! We carried trunks like this for 10+ years schlepping our conference displays through airports, hotels and convention centers to dozens of events annually.
I'm glad those days are almost behind me.

Also on the mic stand, an IPad and IPad mic stand holder. No more music books! Having as many charts as I want readily available View attachment 4801026 is game changing. Life is good.

Nice! I use the same tablet holder, but attach it to this collapsible Air-Turn mic stand which is only 12-15" long when broken down. I also attach an accessory tray.

I have one of those I bought sometime back in the last century, but mine doesn't look like it's pregnant. it's been used mostly for tripods and clothing when we traveled in the past.

Speaking of office chairs, I just replaced my 8 year old model that was falling apart with a new one that has armrests that are retractable. Works great for bass practice!

Ha, ha, that's hilarious. But the pregnant part leaves room for a soft bag with tools. You never know when something will break.

Ooh, does that Chronograph also offer a timer mode, so you could (for example) set it to count down from (or up to) 60 seconds, starting at the tap of a footswitch? If so, I need to get me one! I've worked in a number of ensembles that need an objective duration timer for a player/conductor to access.

Mesa WD800. Shrug factor when I saw it on the specs, never would’ve guessed how useful it would turn out to be. I posted on a different thread a couple of days ago about how useful it is when my phone is dying and I’ve got a dial up some music to practice. Some people use it to power their pedalboard. @agedhorse thinks of everything.

Yeah it does clock/countdown/stopwatch modes! Says they're discontinued but maybe get in touch via DS Guitar Engineering and see what they say.
