FAVORITE PSYCHEDELIC BASSIST'S

Yes, Jack Casady no doubt for classic psychedelic rock.

Otherwise the female bass player Paz Lenchantin that among others are known for having played for A Perfect Circle and is currently replacing Kim Deal in Pixies and who is also the bass player of the psychedelic rock band Entrance, doing an absolute killer job at that:

Here she is doing a solo cover of the Velvet Underground classic Venus in Furs, using loops (she plays violin as well):

It just came into my head lol

Mine is Jack Casady from Jefferson airplane

Jack is the Psychedelic equivalent version of Larry Graham and slap.

IMHO, when ever I saw them, Jack seemed to be the musical director or at least would nod to the band when leading into intros, and bridges and outros. Loved him with Jefferson but I can't for the life of me know why Hot Tuna never did it for me. Maybe I'm not that big of a fan of blues.
Or I just missed his excellent playing on the first three Jefferson Airplane albums.

Particularly in his Om stuff, I think there's an argument to be made that Al Cisneros is in the "psychedelic" category.

Phil Lesh for sure. Reed Mathis is a personal favorite, and he certainly gets psychedelic.

Damn. I bought this record as a kid. The bass player is Bruce Barthol.

Speaking of memories...
1969 I saw Jefferson Airplane. The very start of the show Casady came out and played solo for a couple of minutes. Blew my 14 year old mind. I had not seen anybody lay down the bass like that, in front of thousands. What a great player.
