Love him. The playing on London Calling sounds like it's coming from a 5+ years experienced player rather than someone who'd only been at it for 2 years.
Give Mike Dirnt his Orangey-coloured Gibby G3 with black pickups and give him his 90's look (t-shirt and pants/medium length haircut) and you have the most awesome punk bassist ever. Oh yeah...
I'm a huge fan of Fat Mike from NOFX, Alkaline Trio's Dan Andriano and Jerry Only of the Misfits, but my absolute favourites are Mike Dirnt from Green Day and Blink 182's Mark Hoppus.

Well they both have P Bass pickups in them, and you'll find those in nearly every style of music imaginable.

Good point, very true! It was Hoppus' bass in particular that I thought might not be very changable, with it just having a volume knob. But considering I mostly play this kind of music it's probably not a problem, haha!

Even though it's more pop-punk, Mike Herrera from MxPx writes some really great lines. Bonus points for being the lead singer, too. And then there's Matt Freeman, who is a total beast.
Bruce Lose and Will Shatter of Flipper - great bass lines in Life and Sex Bomb. Live they would both play bass at the same time - quite a joyous noise!
Good call. Love Flipper. If you haven't seen their "Live at Target" stuff, it's well worth it. it used to be available on VHS and the music from it was on some old compilation LP I used to have. Probably on Youtube....
His playing was/is heavily influential for me personally. i love how that dude plays bass
