Twilight Zone by Golden Earing.

Nothing fancy, but it takes endurance and you can't fall asleep or you'll miss the changes. And god help you if you lose the groove for half a measure; it'll ruin the whole song.

It took me a long time to get solid on this, especially if do a long solo, but i LOVE it!

One thing though - I am not happy with my tone. Any suggestions on getting the proper twang? I am an effects newb for sure.

Some of Larry Taylor's DB lines on Tom Waits's 80s and 90s material are only two or three notes. "Jockey Full Of Bourbon" stands out to my ear; simple as it gets, and absolutely perfect in context.

My favorite uncomplicated bass line would probably be something off the first RATM album. I lot of simple but cool bass lines on that album. Good use of blues scales that helped me break away from playing typical stuff all the time
