Favourite Billy Sheehan and Tony Levin Lines?

Tony Levin: After hearing a lot of later versions of Dinosaur w/KC, I recently put on the original studio version, I think on Thrak. Great line, right out front, yet totally supporting the song and not dominating.

I was first totally captivated by his almost out-of-control fretless line on DIY on Gabriel's first. The synth is so, I don't know, common sounding, but the bass line just ROCKED that song, and it wouldn't have been the same with any other bass part.

I wanted to look this thread up again. I just found an album that Tony Levin Plays on. I first heard the album not knowing who the bass player was and the playing and ideas floored me. The playing is beautiful. The album is Andy Pratt's Resolution. You can find the album on line. Check it out. The playing and the arrangements are incredible. Oh, it helps that the drummer is Steve Gadd as well.

another vote for dlr's eat em and smile album for billy sheehan.

for tony levin, my favorite line of his is the song "one world" off of dire strait's "brother's in arms" album. always a big favorite of mine since it came out.

I think a better question would have been "what recordings by these two artists pale in comparison to the other 98%."
Both are unbelievable bassists, both with very (I stress VARY) different styles, with some true musical genius.
You really can't go wrong listening to anything these two have done over the years, and by listening closely, and learning (....pause for emphasis), you will be a much better bassist.
