Actually, the bass he's playing the video is his custom 34" instrument that Ed Roman made for him several years back. Same pickups/wiring as the Fendenbacker, but in recent years he went from the original 2+2 neck it came with to Fender-style Jazz necks. As I understand, the Fendenbacker was sold as part of a fairly recent Kickstarter campaign and he doesn't have it any longer. He also had a bog-standard white 4003 with a D-tuner that he used for most of the early albums, but I believe that one was sold also, as it shows up in the artist collection on tuneyoursound.com. I haven't seen him use anything but the Ed Roman bass with Spock's Beard in many years. A great example of the flexibility this pickup arrangement offers is on the tune "I Know Your Secret", where Dave plays on the Jazz pups fingerstyle and gets a nice burpy Jazz tone at the beginning of the tune, and switches to the Rick pups and a pick when the harder verse starts.Julie Slick
Her solo work is not my cup of tea but she's amazing on Adrian Belew power trio
