FBass Finish Delemma Help!... big pics... sorry

that is some sweet grain. My F has a burst finish that is light enough to not obscure the grain, except at the edges. If you really like the grain pattern but want a burst, George can do a burst that still shows off the grain.

But yeah, my vote, don't go for the opaque scotch plaid finish!:)

Yes, it portrays understated elegance for sure. But I still prefer the 3 band active Preamp that is standard issue on F Bass BN5's. It is without a doubt, the MOST musical onboard preamp I have ever heard or used. It is simple to use and intuitive. I am an F Bass advocate for life. F Basses are my benchmark reference against which all others are judged pure and simple. It is the ultimate in 'one-bass-does-it-all' - Gary

You definitely have the best of both worlds with a lacquered body and oiled neck. Your bass is absolutely stunning :) That's one beautiful piece of ash; it almost looks book-matched. The finish complements the grain perfectly---great choice---and the pickups and rear cavity cover are amazingly well matched to the body grain.

I wonder if George could make you some maple knobs to match the fingerboard...

Congratulations on a fabulous F Bass.
