fEarful 15 with Yorkville 7407 driver

Judging from the magnet structure in Post #8, the driver is not a 15NW530 model. It looks more like a 15NLW9300 but without a positive ID and valid specs it's just a crap shoot.

My thoughts too.
Traynor would likely not use a heavy reinforced cone with no ribbing.
The link provided shows a ribbed cone more likely candidate for bass application

Be interesting to see the cone picture of the Trayor.
Either way 100 to 115 liters would be a larger box.

This would tend to yield a flatter response and would not require such high tuning.
Either way. If tuning is slightly higher like the fearful box at 46hz
The larger enclosure would flatten the response.

Again all n all with a high performance Neo with xmax of 7mm or higher.
The bigger box sound of a 100 to 115 liter cabinet is much more unique
than a typical smaller 80 to 90 liter 15" box.

Tuning around 35 to 45 hz is very standard tuning and work fine for many drivers.
Lower tuning would slightly reduce unloading and slightly lower port velocity.
Very normal for any reflex box.

OP, you mentioned using it as a sub for your L1. That should already have a built-in amplified channel that's crossed over via the Speakon subwoofer connection.

I have the L1 Compact which doesn't have a sub out option, so I'd have to do crossover separately.

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked again just to be sure but yeah, no sub out.

Yorkville responded quickly but they won't share their proprietary T/S parameters. They did say it's the 18Sound 15ND930 model, but 18Sound confirmed they make custom versions of that and probably won't share the custom T/S data. So my final request to them was to provide me with a range of T/S parameters so I can at least bound the solution. See what they have to say tomorrow.

If they won't provide the T/S range you ask for, perhaps they could at least recommend a good internal volume and tuning for that driver.

I work on them, yeah, the Compact only has a line out. Which you could do a plate mount amplifier, kinda HT sub stlye. Those would have the xover and amp in one.

1200w version discontinued but they have a 500w, which is only 250w into 8 ohms. Probably enough for most days though.

I came close to doing that 6thplanet but then I realized it would be about ~650 CAD by the time I got it, and a Bose B1 is only $1050. So idk, doesn't seem like a sensible way to go when you consider that. Besides, seems I've hit a brick wall with Yorkville and 18Sound, so standard params for the 15ND930 are what I've got. Guess I'll build a quick and dirty box to see what it sounds like and go from there.

Here's WinISD comparing the transfer functions for the 3015LF in a 116.6L box tuned to 46 Hz (green), the 15ND930 in the same box with same tuning (red) and the 15ND930 in the recommended 110L box tuned to 40 Hz (blue).

Bummer man! As for the Bose, the B1&2 subs aren't powered, they're for use with the L1 Powerstands. You'd have to use the F1 powered sub. I'd imagine that puppy is pretty pricey!

The Eminence tuning is SO much better that I wouldn’t waste my time and money building a box on the others.

The sensitivity difference alone tells one story, it’s an important one too.

Yeah there's a big spread there - I have a driver that cost me very little but not much point spending a lot of time and coin only to end up with a halfassed cab.
