I think that pretty much sums it up. Whether it was intended that way or not, the OP's statement reads as dismissive. And adding phrases like "I am trying to gain knowledge, not be the cool guy that created the perfect mega thread" adds to that perception.

It might behoove you to simply lurk for awhile, using the "Search" function as necessary, in order to first inform yourself of information that has already been posted - and posted generously.

If, for whatever reason(s), you still have questions that have not already been answered to your satisfaction, you always have the option of starting a new thread in order to pose your questions.

Bonus: Any questions you may still have at that point are much more likely to be well-informed questions, thus able to elicit the most insightful, useful responses...

Clearly, people are reacting primarily to the "chip on the shoulder" attitude you took in your OP. Be honest. You know you did.

Take a deep breath. Back away from the keyboard for awhile. Make a fresh start.

When you come back, try a little humility. All will be forgiven...
