Fed ex issues

I have seen on the fed ex site when I track my orders it will say shipment exception and the barcode was unreadable and had to be replaced. Usually the package will be delayed. I’ve ordered gear online since 2018 and the deliveries always seemed to go smooth. This issue has been going on for the last year? Are unreadable barcodes really the issue? Everything ordered isn’t from the same website either.

Don't know if it is THE issue here. Just know that unreadable barcodes are an issue sometimes. Always kinda funny when customers call and thing it's an issue with the scanner. Besides that, I'm not really sure what your question is but I'm not a native speaker so...
Are all your orders effected or a specific one? Never had multiple orders from different sellers shipped in one shipment.

There have been quite a few of my orders that this has happened with wether ordering from zzounds or any seller from amazon that uses Fed ex(3rd party)

Thanks, I used to get called by the same 2 customers out of around 90. One switched application identifiers in the barcode at one site, the other site had troubles processing those barcodes. The other customer just didn't want to invest in new printers. Every other role of labels was effed up.

Three shipments this year just road around on delivery trucks. All said no delivery attempt, will reschedule delivery. I believe all packages took 2-3 more days to arrive.

I had surgical equipment needed for a case that was sent Express overnight. It took three days to arrive I shudder when I see FedEx tracking now.

FedEx is hands-down the worst carrier, at least in our area, for a number of reasons. They manage to delay or damage most anything they try to ship to me, and I have video doorbell footage of their drivers literally throwing packages at my door from the edge of the walkway - stuff I knew was fragile. They also have damaged several of our Chewy shipments with our cat food and other pet supplies. Last summer they didn't even try to get it to the door.... they left a box full of various kinds of wet/canned food and other supplies on our driveway in 95 degree heat while we weren't home and the delivery update said 'left in a secure location.' All the food was overheated and ruined and had to be replaced.

Just yesterday, I got a new double bass gig bag delivered by FedEx from Sweetwater. They managed to punch 2 huge holes in 2 different sides of the box. If it had been a bass or other item, it surely would have been damaged. I will often choose whether or not to do business with a company if they use FedEx. Unfortunately, Sweetwater and Chewy both use them exclusively it seems.

Can you ship to a nearby FedEx store? My instruments always go to my nearby store and I pick up there. Takes a load off my mind knowing they won't be sitting out in heat or cold.

Also the truck HAS to go to the store so you know they won't delay the delivery due to busy schedule.

I avoid FedEx like the plague, and I have a FedEx account. Besides all their tracking issues and taking the packages on joy rides back and forth across the country, they handle the packages horribly. The last straw for me was when I sent an expensive amp and after taking several days longer than it should, it showed up looking like it was thrown from a several story building. No surprise, the amp was badly damaged. Filed a claim and that took several months and a lot of fighting with them. Horrible customer service and it seems like their employees don't care.

I only have trouble with FedEx when I use them. After a few thousand dollars worth of equipment was damaged by FedEx requiring total replacement, they offered to use UPS for me as the free option. No troubles after that, except when FedEx is the only option.

FedEx left a Gibraltar drum rack in my driveway in a box so damaged that most of the pieces (new from Sweetwater and bent/dented) were on the ground or exposed by missing packaging. It was raining when they left my stuff. The front door and porch were 12ft away from their dump point. The driver forged my signature. I was home, specifically waiting to help the guy unload. Thanks, but no thanks FedEx.

My turn to chime in: Of the hundreds upon hundreds of packages of musical equipment I've purchased, I have never, ever, had FedEx mess up a single delivery (even when the shipper uses next-to-zero packing). I know that makes me the odd man out, but it's a fact. UPS has damaged a couple boxes before. I really think it's a crapshoot. Who do I normally ship with? UPS, because I have my driver's cell number and he'll swing by and pick up for me. Convenient.
Now, regarding FedEx deliveries, it seems it usually takes 1 or 2 days beyond the email, stating: "You have a FedEx package arriving tomorrow". I just add 1 or 2 days.
As far as barcodes go, it'd sure be nice if the shippers throw a piece of clear tape over the label. I always do that; It protects the label from getting marred/wet/ripped off.

No. Mostly because FedEx doesn't have 'stores' around here - and the one FedEx/Kinkos location we had was destroyed in Hurricane Helene flooding. I haven't ordered instruments that were shipped by FedEx in almost 20 years. I actively avoid anyone using them as a shipper. And, it's not so much with delays as it is with absolutely horrendous package handling. A damaged shipment delivered to a store that I drive across town to get is more hassle than a damaged shipment being drop kicked onto my doorstep.

FedEx for me is hit and miss. Once ordered brake pads and rotors and the truck was in front of my house, then I got an "exception" saying nobody home or something else bogus... I honestly think the driver felt how heavy the box was and said "F that".

As for taping over the barcodes, I get that, but I think USPS specifically asks you NOT to do that, so I tape all around the barcode.

I think that's what FedEx does with our shipments from Chewy. They're heavy for sure since they have food and litter in the box usually, and they're so apathetic about it they just drop it wherever they want, or drop kick it halfway to the door... busting open the bag of litter on several occasions. Again, I have video evidence of them doing this a few times from our doorbell cam. I told a Chewy rep after the 3rd damaged shipment from them that they are losing money as a company by using them as a shipper. I call them 'FedUp' now, instead of 'FedEx.'

Your experience is the exact opposite of mine when it comes to handling. I use them exclusively when shipping from Sweetwater and never had problems with instruments or electronics. Maybe it has more to do with the people/workers in your area and not the company specifically. I'm thinking of that scene from Spaceballs where Dark Helmet realizes he's surrounded by a-holes.

Just had something Fed Ex delivered yesterday from a music distributor to my doorstep on time and with no problems. However, the shipper did send it 2nd Day Air and signature requirement so I guess I got the velvet treatment this time. But I really haven't had many problems from either UPS or Fed Ex in awhile. Both are pretty careful to place things and hit the doorbell if no signature required. I may be still in the Fed Ex database when years ago chewed a manager out at the local hub because the driver left a Mesa Subway 15" (sig required) on my doorstep out in the open when I wasn't home.

Not like Amazon. I think it's in their manual to drop everything from chest high down and then just split.
