Fender 100T vs Ampeg V 4B

UPDATE. 😎
So i had given up on finding a 100T. I found a deal on a Bergantino HP-2x it arrived and it is excellent BUT a day after band rehearsal i was contacted by another TB 'r and ended up with a fender super bassman. It has great character now what cab combination to use. I tried an old 300watt 210 sound great up to #4 but i was thinking 212's or ? Its a real problem to have 2 awesome amps 😎

I have to say that I'm an Ampeg lifer, going from an SVT-CL to a vintage V-4B as primary amps since 1994 or so.

However, I have recently been playing bass some through my Traynor YBA-1A mkII Bassmaster (70's 90 watt bassman clone).

I really like the sweetness of the fender stack, which I run -2/10/2, the setting I happened upon during the decade + or so that it was my primary guitar stage amp.

Other aspects of the amps contribute but I find myself appreciative of the Traynor's looser but tuneful tone compared to my V-4B. Very Classic. Get my Paul McCartney on…

For bark and bite? Ampeg all day

Actually, I think you made a wise choice giving up on the 100T. I got one (main reason it was cheap af), and while I do love the sound and most of its features, the auto bias can be a really nasty problem.

Last update: karma has been good except it is coming late…. So a couple weeks ago I was able to snag a 2014 fender 100t price excellent. Original unmolested, clean in appearance Auto bias works appears to have been stored for years. A couple pots and #2 input jack are sticky so I will service those. Not quite a time capsule but close.
Will open a new thread to discuss selecting a modern high efficiency cab
Thanks for the inputs
