Jamerson is the only player of note that i am aware of that had one of the 5 strings. I imagine that trying to find the two covers from that bass would be a long and expensive process.

The bassist in Rasputens Stash was using one circa '72. Didn't even know those things existed 'til I saw that one, never seen another in the wild. They musta sucked pretty hard. lol

I’d love to have a copy of the earlier Fender full-line catalogue that preceded this one by a year or two. It featured finger illustrations that pointed at each specific model. The photography was pretty good
I've had a Bass V in my shop for years. It belongs to a friend, it is mint (sunburst), but has a bad neck with truss rod max'd.
It's too nice for me to tear into it and replace the truss rod, I have thought about sending the neck to these guys.

I just had them fix a warpy ‘66 P neck and they did a fantastic job. I can recommend them without hesitation. One thing to be aware of is they don’t do truss repair, just heat straightening, so you’ll likely still need to rethread the truss or repair/replace/shim the compressed wood in the nut channel. Luckily, my p had a healthy truss to begin with and wasn’t max’d.

I'm sending my next "issues neck" to these guys. I wish I would have known about them sooner, it would have saved me a lot of grief.
Me too, buddy. I found out just in time to save this neck from fingerboard planing and refret.
