Fender 5-String Fretless Jazz Bass... Good deal?

Hello,

I was at my local music store today buying a small/cheap amp to keep at my cottage. While I was there, I tryed out a couple of basses and this one caught my attention. It's a Fender Jazz, 5-String fretless (a couple of years old and used). It had a very nice sound, and a good feel to it. The price of it is $495 (in Canadian Dollars).
Is this a good deal?

Thanks,
Cube

yea uh, just fyi or for example i just got a basically mint (restored i believe) Mexican Jazz Fretless 5 for $375 (shipped) on eBay- still can't find a reference to it re monetary value, but i will say it is one of the SWEETEST axes i've ever played, actually stands up to my Modulus in terms of sheer playability- which doesn't help w/your question i know, but the point is HAGGLE with the music store and if you can get the price more reasonable you may walk away with a real beauty

from what research i have done the 5 string Jazz is no longer made- so you cant buy it new, but $495 is a bit steep considering that the next closest bass- the Mexican 5 string standard can be had NEW for $5-700- see if bringing this up w/ the store gets you a better deal
good luck
