Meh. For that price I'd rather have a lot of other Fenders. American Original for one, or just save cash and go for one of the many better colors in the AP 2 line.

62 Pickups, 63 neck profile.... awesome. Hasn't that been done a couple of million times? Perhaps they could have done something a little more creative for a 75th Anniversary Model. Remarketing the same bass with gold hardware.... which never ages well (gold hardware, that is).

Here are a few suggestions for the 76th Anniversary model; make the cutaway deeper, giving better access to the top of the neck. Make the neck 24 frets. Those are some design changes I personally would like to see in our beloved Precision Bass. Do the same thing for Jazz basses as long as your at it. Simple changes that would make a big difference. Anyone else think those would be desirable changes in these designs?

Looking at the MIA specs the CS 62 pickup and the medium jumbo frets remind the American Standard while the sculpted heel is like the Am Pro II.
But then one could buy a used American Standard in 3-tone sunburst and tort pickguard.

Yea this doesn't really do any justice to the 75th anniversary of the bass. I find both of them boring and uninspiring. The American one is nice but that color combo is not for me. I like a more vintage look.

Think it’s going to be the same as the current ABS case but with different colours. This is the new guitar case, the inside lining is Lake Placid Blue.

I mean... yeah, it's a $2K Fender. I dig my Fenders, but.... they're just Fenders. Not much to get excited about, which is kind of the point I guess.

The gold flash is usually VERY thin, and inevitably has pinholes where sweat gets through and corrodes the metal under the gold. The upshot is that gold hardware usually falls apart MUCH faster than chrome plated hardware.
