Queue ... Why is your bridge so light? It's almost the same as the pickguard.
Mine matches the factory fretboard. Have you ever oiled it? Just curious.

I've oiled it a few times with some squirty fretboard stuff, but it lightens up fast. Next time I change the strings I'll give it a bath in Howard feed n wax.

Most of the specific fretboard oil is just watered down lemon oil extract.
I use Minwax Antique Finish oil blend.
It uses quality oils, and cures hard for real protection, and stays at least a year. More if the instrument isn't kept in light.

I've been told the Kingman V2 is a sales smash, by a friend who sells for GC.
It makes sense ... there is really nothing else similar even.

Considering buying a second one. The one I bought was second-hand, and has a tiny crack near the sound hole, and a buzzy fret... I think it spent a few very dry New England winters without any proper care.

I don't blame you, Queue! The little Kingman is fun to play, and sounds bigger than I'd of believed. Mine seems to record really well. Shocked me.
I recorded my son playing on it, and was surprised how rich it sounds.

For thread integrity, I have a black CB-60SCE that hangs on the wall for a quick, "grab and go" bass. It sounds and plays better than one might expect from a bass that sells for so little.

Here is a pic of my lovely BG-29. In Europe only the black ones were sold, but I preferred the looks from the natural one with spruce top and mahagony sides, instead of maple/maple, as with the black. I found one on ebay US and had it shipped to Germany. Have it for more than 13 years now. This is my good evening bass... although it gets more rarely played, than my bronco/musicmaster basses. And I will keep it.
Honestly... I prefer it to the Kingman, although it is more cumbersome and not so fenderish in the looks...

AS regarding the number... I would strongly prefer the 13, as an aficionado of primes, so, if it is possible, I would prefer to wait til the 13 becomes available...

I like the small Kingman because it has a touch more of the rock n roll look to it. Steve Harris uses one on stage live!

yep.
Mine is from 1999 and made in Korea: BG29 NAT. Sounds very warm and full acoustically.
I saw a later one from 2004 which was made in China: BG-29 NS.
