Just ordered a B-stock of the 30" Kingman V2. I'll post a pic when it gets here next week.

What kind of price drop did you get for it being B stock?Just ordered a B-stock of the 30" Kingman V2. I'll post a pic when it gets here next week.
Technically, no. B-stock means a blemish or imperfection of some sort per the manufacturer and is marked by the manufacturer to indicate such. However, some dealers do sell returns as B-stock. The dealers usually do this so the instrument can still qualify for warranty, otherwise it would be a used item and would not qualify for any warranty coverage at all. Some people view this practice as unethical.Doesn’t B-stock generally just mean that it was returned?
Still comes with a full warranty... I wouldn't have a problem buying a return as a B stock or open box item. However, some dealers do sell returns as B-stock. @mikeoso has tapes on his Martin ABG. Maybe he can help you out.I would like to put flats or tapes on my Kingman V1. Having never changed strings on an acoustic instrument I need the advice of the TB ABG experts. Are there special strings for acoustic basses or will electric bass strings work?
I put D'addario ETB92S tapes on my V2, I'd imagine the ETB92 would work for your V1. You have to work a bit to ensure the string and peg are seated, but that's true for all strings.I would like to put flats or tapes on my Kingman V1. That's why I switched to the tapes (to reduce tension). The Chromes (flats) I had on the V2 were really tight. The tapes feel good and sound great.D’addario tapes have really low string tension, they’ll be fine for you.
I usually have them on my BG32 and will be putting a set on tomorrow. In my opinion, tapes are the best sound on ABG.
These look interesting. I have never tried them though.I would like to put flats or tapes on my Kingman V1. Having never changed strings on an acoustic instrument I need the advice of the TB ABG experts. Are there special strings for acoustic basses or will electric bass strings work?
Expensive! I hope their lifespan is more like flatwounds than roundwounds for that price. These look interesting. I have never tried them though.

Sweet!New Kingman arrived. 4" longer scale than my Jumbo Junior but a lot bigger overall.

The reason I ask is that the Kingman’s neck is supposed to be like a Jazz bass neck. My Kingman V1, which is 34” scale, is definitely like a Jazz bass neck, thin and narrow. I only played a V2 briefly in a nearby mom & pop shop, and don’t really remember how the neck felt. The V2 may be larger than the Jumbo Junior ... but that neck is noticeably thinner. I love mine!
