Here's something new for da thread...
Has anyone noticed how drastic the difference is in the used sales prices are of the Fender Victor Bailey abg's?
Regardless of condition, I've seen them all over the map for yrs.
The only reason I don't have one is the Sawtooth.

I got one for an incredible price on REVERB from a guy in Hawaii. Price was high and then he kept coming down and down and down and down to a price I couldn't believe with a hard shill case! I think peeps were afraid to have it shipped from Hawaii or something. Could not believe it.

I'll tell you why I ALMOST purchased one, and why I will not.
This is a bass that has been difficult to decide if I do or don't like it. Strangly I had back and forth moments.
Then it became clear... I like "different", and this one is. The sunburst, the uniqe headstock shape and appearance, the unique fret markers, the unique sound hole rosette....
BUT, the sides and back needed to be black for my eyes. And the black COULD have been transparent black as well. Then I'd already own one!
I think the headstock looks "rich", like an expensive pool cue. But against the sapele? Or is that it’s cousin, mahogany? It just clashes for me.
Oooooh so close!

One of my few gear-related regrets is not buying one of those when they were available new.

I ended up buying a couple Martin's instead but man, that Victor Bailey was very lively and fun to play.
