If that is the case, I need to turn it into zZounds and see what happens. I am not yet proficient enough or confident enough to delve into the inner workings of my bass. Thanks.
Are you playing it near a computer or neon sign or other electronics? The NON-humbucking jazz pickup will pickup interference and cause humming. Move to another room and see if it happens still. Also see if it changes from facing the rig and walking away from it a bit.
If any of this helps, it sounds fairly normal, it it doesn't help, then something sounds wrong.
Thanks. I tried most all of your suggestions including using a practice amp in another room (I did not move my rig or maybe I should have?). I just returned my bass yesterday and another one is being shipped out today. I'm not an expert but I think that since the only knob causing any humming was the one for jazz pick up that it may have been something to do with that pot or something else, I don't profess to know which is why I come to this forum in search of an answer. BTW - I have a 20 ft. cord. Wouldn't that be enough distance from my rig.

The allen head wrenches for truss rod and bridge adjustments are also included.
The $600 price is Firm for everything which is at least fair and reasonable since all items cost
almost a grand. I'm not interested in any trades and if it's still posted, it is still available. "

There's a bit of TGTBT in that ad. But maybe it is just a "steal".
I hope it is not a scam I just made a deal for it. I spoke with the owner for about 20 min by phone and felt good about the deal. It will be my 2nd one. I will post pics of both of them and get a number next week. It should arrive in Tx in about a week.
I'd like to try out flats on my Aero P. It looks like several p-bass owners like GHS Precision flats. Does anyone in the Aero club use these? And if so, are you using the long + medium or the long + regular? Also, I'm open to suggestions for other brands as well - just didn't really want to spend $50 or more for a set. Thanks!
I can't have both the bridge and neck pickups on my Aerodyne Precision up full, I have to roll back the jazz pickup a little, otherwise there's a buzz/hum. I just keep the neck on full and the bridge rolled back a touch. Not a big issue.
Here's a pic of my Aerodyne in action at a winery jazz gig Friday. Played like butter and sounded huge in the vineyard. Recordings of three songs are here starting with "It's A New Day," then "California Imagery" and finally "Jamaican Me Crazy." You can see the stereo mic just peaking above my music stand at mid-far-right.

I'm gonna fit my Aero with TI flats in a few weeks (when I get the strings). I went for long scale (34-35")
Thanks. I have resigned myself to lowering the jazz pick up, but it is not the bass. Apparently, everywhere you turn in my otherwise small apartment, there are electronics and I think it may have something to do with that (I am far from an expert).
Normally the hum occurs when both are NOT on full. Single coil pickups do this. Since you have the reverse problem, it sounds like wires are crossed somewhere. Have a guitar tech look at it; bet the problem will be solved in a couple minutes.
While you're at it, have the tech replace the pickups with double-coil and you can have either pickup in whatever setting you want. That's the best solution. I used Seymour Duncans but other brands work too.

@Bassgen, if your gear has a noise gate anywhere in it, you won't get any buzz through your gear.
