Not ebony, just the stock rosewood photographed in black & white. But I'm sure an ebony fretboard would be perfect. Probably cost more than the bass did tho'!

I like this part of Tokyo.and the Manabu Tanaka is a cool guy.His English was quite good.I am puting her in the hands of Chunger this week for some pickups he designed and had made by Nordstrand.The Babicz bridge is over the recessed spot the old bridge came out of.I did not worry about the ground wire because we used about 20 sheets of aluminum foil to fill the recess.So I got good ground and a bridge that is flat on the body.I used aluminum foil for lack of any other material to fill the void.

I need to change the bridge on my Aerodyne. I was leaning toward a Hip Shot or a Schaller 463. If there something that would be better I would love to know. Thanks for the help. Also to join the club do I need to post a picture of my Aerodyne.

It's an interesting question. I have been a rounds man for ages, mostly because I didn't know flats existed. Last two years I've tested several brands of flats (and several rounds) and landed on Thomastik-Infelds as my personal favorite string.
However, I haven't brought myself to change strings from Fender rounds to the TIs on my Aerodyne yet, because I think it's something with the Aero neck that makes rounds sound really nice on it as well.
Maybe not the most helpful post, but if not anything else, it made you feel a bit less alone if you have a dilemma as to what strings to put on ;P

I have already change my strings to the Thomastik-Infelds and let me tell you it sounds and plays amazing. I was like you and was not sure if I should make the change but as it turned out I wish I had done it sooner. Now if I can make a decision on what bridge to use I will be good to go.
About the same as I paid for my grey one, I'd say. Bought on the net.

A lot lot lot more than I paid for mine a week ago local, but they are hard to find so supply and demand.

Sorry to change the subject...Is it me?...am I doing something wrong? I cannot turn the jazz pickup knob all the way without getting some serious humming coming through my gear (GK410MBX and an Ampeg PF500). I tried using my practice amp but I get the same results. Is this an inherent problem like the jazz basses where you have to have them at the same volume? I just got my black beauty and I need help here. Thanks in advance.
BTW - I have no issues with my other bass guitars (jazz bass excluded) so I know that it has nothing to do with my gear.
