Fender American Original - off-center truss rod?

Hello,

So I'm very keen on these American Original basses and have been for a while. They are pretty much the only vintage, nitro, American Fender basses I can afford, which are some of the key features I'm after.

Sadly there aren't many in my area that I can go and see in person and the few I have seen suffer from this (apparently quite common) issue, namely that the truss rod nut is slightly to the left of the neck (bass side).

I've read a couple of previous threads on here regarding this issue, however I'm still not entirely sure whether the problem is a serious one or not. Could anyone please enlighten me? Will it, for example, cause a twist or something else down the line? Does anyone know from experience? If it's just a cosmetic thing then it doesn't bother me.

Almost every single Am Original bass I've seen, either online or in person, has had this issue. Attached are a couple of photos I asked some Reverb sellers to send me. As you can see these basses also have the same problem.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks and Happy Easter!
Sam
