Fender American Vintage '57 p-bass

Hola! Do you guys have any idea why my 2001 AVRI '57 p-bass is clearly a 3-tone sunburst and not 2-tone as it should be? Serial number didn't tell me sh*t. There's a

pretty much the same colour bass on this Reverb link.

The only thing I can think of is a Fender employee mistakenly picked the '62 3-tone sunburst body to mate with the '57 neck. It wouldn't surprise me at all.
