Fender Amp Can or the best battery amp

I am looking for a small, portable, battery powered amp so I can keep up with my friends and their acoustics. I was wondering if anyone had actually tried one of these with bass. I have a good ole sansamp and figured that it might be worth checkin out. Any other suggestions?

The 'best' reviews I've read for a battery powered amp are for the Phil Jones Briefcase amp.

ya well thats a little too much to spend for acoustic jams. Not too mention a little larger then I'd like. I did read 2 reviews on that link that said they powered bass guitars threw the amp can with success and for under $100 used on ebay I'll likely give one a try.
