Fender bass cabinet question

I hope I am in the right section, but I am wondering if anyone has experience with this cabinet? I looked at a Bassman 100 this weekend, and this Fender cabinet came with it. The sellar said it was designed for "long throw", whatver that is worth. Thanks.

Similar in design to many compression horns used for large PA systems designed for very high SPL. The 4 drivers are positioned to converge and compress/project the sound field. something like that...I can't remember the terminology of the design.

I used to own one of those back in the 80's. I put 4 EVM12's in mine and powered it with a Fender PS300. I spent many a late-night loadout wondering why I had bought it. Sounded good though.

It was a very flawed design. The angling of the drivers made the internal volume of the cab much smaller, killing bass response. The drivers were of the $20 variety, the cabinet construction poor. If you haven't already bought it, don't.

I blew one of those 412 Fender cabs up back in '75, using a Bassman 100 head and a homemade preamp in front of it. Kerrr'plooie!

Too heavy to be thrown too long.. I might be able to throw it a couple of feet...
