Fender basses; what's new for 2015?

I had one of those and it was a nice bass with a good neck but ultimately not enough P in its DNA. Probably the thin basswood body didn't give it enough thump. Traded it in on my 60th anniversary P and couldn't be happier.

I'd love to see Fender do some more Shell Pink, Seafoam Green, Sonic Blue, and darker "antique" cream type colors. It'd be nice if colors like these weren't only offered intermittently at the upper price levels. Maybe even some FSR Mexican models or American Specials could get the new color options......................meanwhile back in the real world I'll just go back to perusing the run-of-the-mill black, burst, and oly white offerings..............:(

Yeah, that's the hand-stained Mahogany. Mine is the hand-stained Wine Red/rosewood. (Looks darker indoors.)

It's cheaper to manufacture and basses wired vvt are louder.

Concentric pots run for about $12 or more for a quality unit such as CTS. The equivalent regular pot is about $2-3. Plus you'll need a second capacitor which is even more money.

Personally I like my jazz basses wired volume blend tone. That's just me though.

Those handstained AmStd's were pretty. I tried grabbing a P back in 2012 from Bass Central, but both the ones listed on their site were sold (big surprise there). I would love to stumble upon one of the hand stained butterscotch FSR Jazz's that apparently there were even less of.

I'd be happy to see more P and J colors and ash option, as usual. Doesn't take much to please a Fender nut.

Thanks, I had a sneaking suspicion it had something to do with cost.
