They both sound kinda similar from the demos.

I dunno, Captain. Maybe it's my ears, but I think I hear just a little bit more "growl" on the Jag's A, D and G-strings. I definitely hear the growl from the Okoume's E-string, but not so much from A to G. Also, the Okoume P/J sounds like it's got a bit more output, but that could just be based on the volume levels they're recording at.

You're right. I wasn't listening through headphones. I still definateily want either the PJ or the J.

I hope Ed Friedland reviews them.

I'm a little late to this thread so, sorry if this was already discussed...

I was able to try out one of the new Steve Harris P-basses at NAMM. Man that sucker is heavy. The neck is quite chunky too. Not sure how the neck compares to other P-basses (I have Rickenbackers and several Jazzes), but it was wide and fat. I was quite interested until I tried it.
