Fender Bolt on Neck Question

OK - looks like I mighta got screwed ... but the neck has a MIM serial number - hoping I'm not getting boned here.

I do not know how you could be getting screwed. The seller was very honest and open about what parts manufacturers and what parts he typically uses. And think of the labor that went into that bass. if it plays as good as the reviews say it should, you got a hell of a nice bass for less than the cost of a Squier VM.

What could be wrong with that. You bought a bass advertised as a frankenbass that could have any one of several different "brand" parts on it. The seller also plainly states the neck...well, read it for your self -
"Neck Serial No. MN9916586 - "made in Mexico" There is nothing wrong with a MIM neck! They also generally sell for in excess of 150 dollars on ebay and elsewhere. And the seller reshaped the fret ends and polished the neck, not a bad deal! I just paid 300 dollars+ for a MIM neck (although it was blocked and bound) and that was a fair, no, great price.

Here is hoping you are satisfied with your purchase, try not to get too hung up on what brand names might have otherwise been slapped on the parts. If it feels good, and sounds good, it is good. Especially for that price!

I wonder if the seller can or will disclose where your bass body and neck etc actually came from?

He doesn't actually say that the neck is a real Fender neck, just that it has the decal that says it's made in Mexico with the serial. Easy enough to make a decal. Plus with that relic finish he's got on that neck, I wonder if he could have kept a real decal intact anyway. Looks like it's just a parts bass with a relic finish. All well and good as long as it plays well, who cares where the parts are from? Especially for only $250.
