Fender Cowpoke Neck Swap?

Hi all!
Recently I picked up a fender “cowpoke Precision P Bass special, love it sounds great just one catch however, I am considering swapping the neck for a fender roasted maple neck. However the Cowpoke neck has 22 frets and the new neck would have 20 medium jumbo frets, would I need to do anymore further mods? Or would it slot in like a glove? Any help is much appreciated! :)

Not sure if you already found your answer over in the Cowpoke thread, but a standard neck will not work as it's the wrong length. I don't know of anyone making a replacement neck for any of the 22 fret Fenders.

As the Cowpoke is basically the MIM version of the Precision Plus, the Precision Plus and Jazz Plus necks are a direct fit. The "longhorn" or "boner" Deluxe Jazz Bass and Deluxe Precision Bass from the late 80's/early 90's are also a straight swap. The Precision Lyte and MIM Zone necks have a small overhang, but I believe the heel is otherwise the same and should fit with little to no trouble. Fender/Squier MB-4 necks are similar.
