Yes, it totally has that worn in, solid feel that I was looking for! Super stoked!

Beautiful! What strings is she wearing?
She’s wearing LaBella Low Tension Flexible flats. And they are fantastic on this bass. I have another set that was on my ‘63 AV precision, but the d and g strings sounded way different (much thinner and brighter with less fundamentals) than the e and a, so I thought that’s just how the strings were. I guess I got a weird set, because the ones on the custom shop sound godlike. Beefy and even all the way up the frets on all strings. Might be the pickups on the custom shop? Whatever the deal is, it sounds and plays phenomenal enough to make me think about selling the AV bass, which was my number one until now ha ha

I love the LaBella LTF's. I have them on my Postmodern. They are the one string that has led me away from TI's in both tone and tension. I won't replace the Ti's I currently have on my basses, but any new sets of flats will be the LTF's.

NBD!
I've owned (and sold) a bunch of CS basses over the years (Pinos, 59s, 60s etc.)
For one reason or another I never really bonded with them long term compared to my vintage basses or the one's I build for myself. I just got a new job and wanted to treat myself, I have a vintage 1959 so I'm always on the lookout for CS basses with the same basic specs. I also like unusual custom color combos, saw this one pop up and rolled the dice.
59 heavy relic, daphne blue, vintage fret upgrade, 59 pickups with the beveled poles, 60 CS neck shape (.79-99), very thin finish with no base coat.
Holy crap this thing is awesome! 8.3 lbs, absolutely sings with Labella LTF. Has the magic neck\body wood combo. The nut is cut the way I like, the action is super low, darker rosewood, the decal is properly centered (I'm ocd for the little details :D) and just sounds great. I wasn't sure I would like the color but looks awesome in person. I've probably had 4 of this same model over the years, this is the best one by a mile. Super happy!
