This is all I’ve come up with so far...Hi All, I’m looking for a CS ‘62 or ‘63 neck with rosewood board, preferably a P but a Jazz will work also. I know this is a long shot but if anyone knows of any available please let me know.
Cheers
Andy
Wow! That would have been perfect! Unfortunately it’s no longer availableThis is all I’ve come up with so far...

You guys still giving out numbers? I’ll take one! Ups just dropped of this beauty. 2015 ‘59 P journeyman relic. Got to play it for like 5 minutes. Enough to tune to pitch and strum out a few blues bars, haven’t had a chance to hook it up to the SVT II NP yet because the kids are nappingView attachment 3839234 View attachment 3839235 . Wow! I’m in love. Think this thing might be a lifer for me and it doesn’t feel like it weighs 8.5lbs.

I’ve seen a few articles/posts other places about applying lacquer to a tweed case and I’m intrigued. Since it would be an FCS case in my case, is this a horrible idea? Has anyone else done this?
Why? Were the original Fender cases lacquered?

I posted this question in the general forum basses section, but perhaps here is the more appropriate place to ask.
I’m considering a used custom shop 64 jazz bass that due to the pandemic I can’t try out before purchasing. It has what is called a ‘60 J-bass “U”’ neck.
Does anyone know how thick this might be front to back compared to other jazz basses? I find the modern American Professional and the American Vintage 64 necks comfortable, but the American Original 70s to be too thick for my preference. Thanks.
