Fender Custom Shop Owners Club!!!!

I have a 2003 Team Built Custom Shop Fender jazz with a maple neck, white block inlays, Custom shop "noiseless" pickups in Ice Blue Mettalic. I own 5 Fenders (4 jazz, and one P-J hybrid) and cannot express how much I love my Custom Jazz. I hold it in the absolute highest regard. My Custom Jazz can produce such a wide variety of amazing tones...to me , the Custom Shop Jazz is the ultimate expression of what a Jazz bass can be...and is! It plays itself. The neck is like butter. The expression of the superior wood as manifest thru the pickups is breathtaking. The level of sustain is amazing. It looks like a regular American jazz bass at a glance. But the quality of the wood, more slender body, shape of the neck, and superior components really make a world of difference. Honestly, you just have to play one. Then and only then will you know for yourself. Are there any other Fender Custom Shop Bass owners that would like to chime in?

She is a real beauty!!! The wood grain is absolutely gorgeous. I love the bound neck with block inlays. She looks pretty much mint. Thanks for sharing!

she is lovely, and sound great
but I have modified with NJ4SV and sadowsky pre
great combo to made the bass even better than before!

My two Custom Shop P Basses are fast becoming my favourite basses so far. They just play, sound and feel exactly the way that I've always imagined "a bass guitar" should - can't get on with boutique or Star Wars basses, personally .

sorry that my camera had gone in the last month, so I can't post the pics.

when I changed to nordy and sadowsky pre, the improvement is obviously. The stock fender pre and pups are not bad, really, they are good.

but the nordy and sad just bring your bass to more high end. The sad pre is great, not coloring your tone, even through it is 2 bands only( bass boost+treble boost), they are useful, as well as the VTC. 9V but still high output.

For the nordy pups, much define on each notes, in the middle position, can cover many music styles, blend to neck pup, u can get something like P bass sound, good for backing up the band. Blend to bridge pup, u can get the great soloing tone.
Simply, nordy pups like magic

Gorgeous basses Fender32. Wow!! How would you describe the difference between the 2? Thanks Hong Kong Roy...I may throw some Nordy's in mine and just hold on the the stock pickups. My bass is already very midrange heavy.

Shell pink 55 P. NOS version, but is quickly on it's way to closet classic because the finish is naturally checking very nicely.

The Custom Shops are extemely nice basses. I defintely want another one...I would like to find a 66 Jazz Bass version.
