Fender Custom Shop vs G&L LB100

Hi all,

can you help me with your experience, are Fender Custom Shop basses (and specially Pino Paladino signiture model) far more superior tonewise than Custom G&L LB100 or it is down to personal taste?

IMO they're like comparing apples to overpriced apples.

I don't have a chance to A/B them on my system, that's why I'm asking. I'm leaning toward G&L because of the sound, but don't want to pull a triger on purchase a new custom LB100 (or mybe SB1 - haven't decided yet) before I know fenders custom don't resonate significantly better.
I don't want to hear after I buy G&L in studio or live: "that bass sounds nice but fender custom shop sounds waaaaay better".

What do you say?
