I thought that I saw something mentioned about a device which attaches or clips to the headstock to add mass and cure dead spots on Fender basses. However, now that I'm looking I can't find anything about it. Did I actually see this or was I dreaming? Thanks. Bob Walker www.walker-entertainment.com
It's the groove tools fat finger http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Groove-Tubes-Fat-Finger-Bass-Sustain-Enhancer?sku=420271 I have one. It does something... I'm not really sure what, but it's something. Mostly tightens up the high end, my dead spot: still there, but not as bad.
Fat Finger is what you're thinking of - adds mass to headstock and shifts the frequency of the dreaded "dead spot" http://www.musiciansfriend.com/prod...Bass-Sustain-Enhancer?sku=420271&src=3SOSWXXB
I found mine on clearance at Musicians Friend for like $12. Just keep your eye out for them. I honestly don't find mine to be worth $12, but to each their own.
