Fender Drops prices on Am. Std. again this week.

Yeah On topic.............fenders price increase decrease over and back is a buch of ****............plus fender your artist series basses are overpriced , dont sell me a MIM hoppus for almost a 1,000$.

With Fender's price increases, its like they WANT us to look around the used market instead.

I got my Hoppus used for $399. They were around the same price new when I originally wanted one back in 2003.

and if i wanted a hoppus sound i would just grab the wentzs squier i bet with the same set up , strings and amp they would sound the same

Hey my soul mate was an AM. STD. Pbass in blizzard perl with maple. It was $740 because it was when fender first raised their prices and they had to get all the 08 modles out. Givin I'm 13 and I don't have a job... I couldn't buy her.

Na it was just that one. I've played ones exactaly like it (colour, fretboard ect) but they never feel the same... it was just That bass

Yeah I was in GC this weekend... $1094. So it's pretty much like they're giving you the "sales price and rebate". They're still $1299 online new, but used to be $1099 in early '08. So basically they're the same price as they used to be...only way to get an American Fender cheaper now is to buy used, which is good too..

Agreed. The price increase was just bogus. At least now they're worth what you pay (well worth it to me). all IMHO

From what I've seen it's only in GC stores. Instead of $1299 with a 20% off sale, or a some sale price - $100 mail-in rebate, you can just walk in and just a reduced price...

Pretty standard business practice. Raise prices then once people get acclimated to the new price you can drop them and people are amazed at the saving, even though the price is still higher than before. Or usually is.
