Fender Electron Green

I was browsing reverb yesterday and a brand new 2020 Fender player series p-bass caught my eye. It was being sold by a music store in Louisiana and the color was labeled as electron green. I have never seen or heard of this color from Fender, but the store had it labeled as a Limited edition color. I checked on Fender’s website and they don’t have the color listed. Could this be a FSR (Fender Special Run) bass? If so, how many of these are usually made? I saw some things online saying that only 200 were made in the color but I’m not sure I believe that.

I ended up buying the bass because I absolutely fell in love with the color and I can return it if I’m not satisfied. Anyone have any information on this color and it’s production?

I don't know that it was a special run so much as a color for a brief period of time. It's a neat color.

I don’t think they were too hard to find when they came out. It’s a great color if you want something bold and a little crazy. Looks even better in person. I like the juxtaposition of very traditional Pbass with crazy 80s style neon green.

The important thing is you bought it!
As for only 200 being made, yes, Fender's done that before and I'm pretty sure they stuck with it.
Opal Jazz bass, for example.

I like it!
There are plenty of cool pickguards you could choose from as well to really make this thing pop.

Yep, 200 is the total number in that color. My local music shop had one that played great and I so badly wanted it but my CFO did not allow an allocation of funds.

One of the main reasons I was so drawn to it was that it’s just so, so different (appearance-wise) from anything I own. Enjoy it in good health!
