Fender Flats (9050) on Lakland Jazz?

Looking at the pic of the whole bass, I can hardly tell the silk is green. Subtle enough not to distract in any way.

Enjoy those strings and report back in about three months when they have settled nicely.

I've been bitten by the flatwound bug lately and just ordered a set of GHS Precision Flats for my Precision. I'm almost tempted to put Fender 9050L back on my J now.

Will definitely do that. I hope I can get used to the "bridge cables" feel and tension. I think just like you said, they will get better as they age.

"Bridge cables" is a relative term... I didn't find the 9050L (45-60-80-100) to be objectionably stiff when I had them on my Jazz. It's all subjective, I suppose...

Well, to me they do feel thick and chunky. I am surprised as they are only 45-100. DR Sunbeams for example seem light compared to these.

Sunbeams... Of course! Compared to them, all other strings would be considered "bridge cables". I tried the Sunbeams 45-105 on my Jazz several years ago and found them to be a bit too loose and flexible for my taste. Again, it's all relative.
