Fender Flea bass thoughts

The '64 Fender Pure Vintage Jazz Bass pickups that are used in the Flea are my favourite Jazz Bass pickups. You can buy all the Pure Vintage pickups separate. But the '64 ones not any more, nowhere in Europe, nowhere in the US. I guess they use all of them for the Flea Basses. So I hate all Flea basses and even more so, everyone who owns one.

I love mine - strung with Dunlop flats (great set) installed a reliced Fullerton "pepperoni" tort guard I had laying around (I didn't relic the pickguard) and have a brass hipshot A to round out the mods - stew mac has reliced neck plates - love Flea but that had to go!

the flea bass is so overdone nowadays..I have an american jazz..and I am glad its not pink..even on it..I added seymour duncan quarter pound pickups and a babicz bridge..now if you really want a nice bass..take a look at this Elrick bass..its a lot cheaper than a fodera..but still in the price range thats affordable..would have to take out the bartolinis..and would like a chrome bridge and machine heads..click on the small pictures below to see the entire bass......Invalid Link Removed

nice stuff from Elrick!
