Fender Frankensteins

I present the Fender Frankenjag! The amazing neck of a Fender Deluxe Jaguar Bass, neck made in Japan. From a Hot-Rod Red Jag built in 2006. This means the headstock is painted red. The body if from a Modern Player Jaguar bass built around 2011 and made in China I think. The body is black with a white pickguard. The P-Bass pickup came from a Roger Waters signature P-Bass which makes it a Seymore Duncan Quarter Pounder. I picked this bass up in a trade and it didn't sound good until I had my bass tech set it up. After the setup it is as good as anything I have ever played and has become my number one bass. I am thinking of changing out the pickguard for something that would better match the headstock but I am not sure. Without further delay...here it is! NOTE: This is the bass I am playing in my avatar picture off to the side.

I wanted an American PJ bass and the American Standard Jaguar seemed right up my alley, except that really like maple necks. I have a Select Precision with a flamed maple neck that looks and feels great to me.

So, I bought an American Standard Jaguar body and an American Select Precision neck and married them up. Lastly, I really like black guards, I've put one on all of my basses that didn't come with one stock. I had Tony at Pickguardian make a BWB guard for it. I feel confident that this bass is one of a kind.

That is an MIJ "Foto-Flame" Jazz bass. It's fame or infamy depends on who you ask. Personally, I think they sound and look great. The neck came from a Squier Classic Vibe '60s Jazz, a fantastic piece of construction, as well.

What kind of strings are those? They look a bit like the D'Addario copper-jacketed strings, but obviously aren't since there are no color-coded ball-ends.

They are GHS Limited infinity Steels. Pretty good strings.

Oh. I have one of these. '94 MIM Jazz neck, '17 MIM P-Bass body. Put a D-tuner on it yesterday since the E is really good and D is decent.

Damn, wish I had seen those when they were for sale. Unfortunately I was recovering from major surgery at the time. That sunburst one looks like one I had years ago but it had a maple bound and blocked neck. I traded it and wished I hadn't.

My fretless P; Fender fretless neck 1976, warmoth body , bartolini pu´s, leather pick guard, Stellartone tone styler and built in wireless transmitter (but I can use a cable if i like...) Sounds great with the Pyramid Balck Tapewound strings!

Nice bass and all, but I am super-intrigued by that pickguard! Please, what is it's story? (I love maps, especially ones with some serious artistic flair! )
