Let's seriously think about the logistics here:

Getting 250(+) TBers to agree on a Mexican or American Fender P or J, the exact details (cosmetics; pup style, type and location; truss rod access, waterslide style, etc., etc.,) of said bass, and then actually BUY the thing...:rollno:

It's fun to think about, but the reality is it'll never happen. Sorry guys. :hmm:

Agreed. To get all 250 people to agree to the same bass is impossible. It was a nice thought.

:bawl: An adult WOULD have to show up right away and rain on the parade. :p Thanks boys, you just saved me several hundred bones. Also, it's unclear if TB rules allow this sort of commercial venture.

But--just sayin'--if Fender were to come out with:

Fender Precision Bass
Alder [or swamp ash] body
Maple neck with rosewood fretboard, vintage tint, "C" shape, vintage frets
[Insert agreed nut width here: 1.625" or 1.75"]
Truss rod adjustment at the heel
Fender Original '62 pickup

Sorry folks - it was just a thought. I know Seymour Duncan developed a custom-limited pickup based on their forum members' wishes. (I know an 80 dollar pickup isn't a whole bass)

I just thought we could drum up interest. Then take polls on the specs (limited to some of the more 'standard' options) and keep it MIM to keep the cost down.

Again, I haven't looked into it this much but I think I will - just to prove that it CAN be done. Haha

I think its a good idea, i would add that a j/p config would be best because most play either/or and either natural or a burst to keep it classic...

Went to adjust the bridge saddle height on my Honeyburst as it looked a little wonky, and could not find an Allen wrench that fits. In fact, it looks like every screw has been stripped!? What should they look like? Probably standard Fender hex? Or is there some secret tool I don't have?
