Yeah that's why you don't see as much MIJ anymore. The currency rates make them as expensive as MIA. I think MIJ have a little more character though. What would an MIA version of this cost? It doesn't really exist.
PROTIP: If you want one, pick up the phone and call. We don't have all those fancy coupon-code thingy's but we have humans who like to haggle.
So some of you guys were talking pick guards the other night. My FSR came with the tort pick guard. I want to get another one so I have the option to change pick guards from time to time. What other colors besides white and black do you think would look good. It's natural wood so I'd think almost any color would look good. Let me hear some suggestions.
you might be able to get away with any color, but personally I think tort and black are the only colors that look like they belong

Looks much better against a yellow bass then it does the natural wood.
Slight acceleration in the plan to acquire an FSR Honeyburst...a semi-local TBer sold this beauty to me this afternoon. This pic is right before installing a black Fender pickguard and TI flats. Sounds and looks great. "After" photos soon!

Personally, I think the parchment guard looks good on that bass. If I were to change it, I'd go with a cream-colored guard.
Thanks guys. The black is installed and I must say I dig it. Pics when there is adequate light. The nut slot for the A string is too big so there is a rattle with TI flats. Silenced temporarily with a little piece of a rubber band. The bass sounds good. Ordered a new Graph Tech nut. Will install that when it arrives, wish me luck!

Been thinking about getting flats, i do however like the rounds on this bass. Whats the gauge of the flats?
TI JF344, the E string is .100". So, on the skinnier side. You might like La Bella 760FS or 760FL (light gauge) for about half the price of TI.
