Yes, actually--MF is doing $50 off 299 and GC will match it in store if you're persistent. I'm about to negotiate with them on a Squier Bass VI
But I got mine used, saved a few bucks!
Fender strings their 4's w/ Fender 7250ML Med-Light Nickel rounds Gauges 45-65-80-100 or 7250M Mediums gauges 45-65-85-105.

I've always wanted to replace the one of these I bought way back when they had white pick-guards (and you could get the P as well); are these still NOS from '08 with the old-style headstock logo? I also recall mine being somewhat heavy. I have an ash G&L Tribute JB2 that may or may not be a better bass, but it just doesn't have the mojo of a jazz (maybe it's that can-opener headstock). Thinking of going for it if these are relatively newly made. Also wondering if MF will allow a 15% on these for their labor Day sale. I usually get a great deal from them.

Beauty! I don't care how many basses a guy accumulates, he'd be crazy ever to part with a bass this good that cost that little. Maybe that's why they're so rare in the Classifieds.
I bought mine used without a bag/case, but I think my model came new with a gig bag.
They come with what's normal for the type - an American Standard FSR will have the same SKB case as other American Standards.
Good thing I don't plan to part with it.
I checked Craigslist for a while before finding this sale and the only FSR on there was a lefty jazz for $350. Pretty good deal though if a lefty in Southern California is in the market for one.
The original was white.
I'm not big on plain white p/g's in general, and i'm not sure if tort would look ok. I think the black looks nice with the burst. Maybe I'll look for an aged white pearloid to put on. Good ol' mother-of-toilet-seat may be neat on it, and i have a black pearloid guard on my blizzard pearl p bass.
I'd be all over a used one at $300, but it's hard to consider them used for $400 plus shipping when you can buy them new on-sale at GC for $425 shipped.
