I just got mine today too! They look pretty good, but it is hard to get them on straight I Think thy might be a little smaller than real inlay blocks. The best part you can remove them if you don't like them.
P.S. You guys were right the Black PG looks much better than the wood one!
Yeah I took 'em off, I was changing over to flats anyway. I would say you pretty much have to remove the strings, I can't imagine trying to apply them with them on you will have use something to rub on the top to get the sticker to adhere, I used a pick (probably first time I have use a pick on my bass since 1991.) I also recommend running masking tape down the neck on the top and bottom as a guide to make sure they are straight. I thought of this after I applied mine, of course.

Looks cool. Black PG is a nice alternative to tort. (Ssshhh...I could get kicked off of TB for saying stuff like that.) Were it not for the black bridge and '60s spacing, I'd swear that was a '75!
I picked up this beauty a couple weeks ago. I played with several MIA basses before trying this one. I was sold as soon as I started playing it. Got annoyed with the hum so Im getting some DiMarzio Model J's in today. It still sounds great through my SVT Classic though!
Congrats on the FSR Jazz. I put TI JF344 jazz flats on mine. They sound kind of nasal on the Jazz. String suggestions that sound nice with the stock pups? (I also have a set of DiMarzio Ultra Jazz pickups standing by, but no time to install.)
I just picked up my FSR Jazz and played for half an hour. She sits in the living room (far from the Man Cave) so she doesn't get as much playing time. She sure is a nice bass! Might have to relocate to where the big amps live.
I got D'Addario Nickel Flat .40's I think. The repair tech at GC recommended them. The Model J's sound great. I neglected to notice that the poles are adjustable, so I'll have to take it in as I dont have calipers. Anyway, The low end is loud! I had to turn the bass down on my amp a bit and it still had much better presence on the low notes even with our loud drummer and extremely overdriven guitar. He's got a powersoak on a 60's Marshall 412 stack, it sounds glorious. The mids and highs are punchier. Great for the couple funk songs we play.
I have two FSR's. Hot Rod Jazz (my favorite bass) in Olympic White with matching headstock, and a 60th Anniversay P bass in two-tone vintage burst. I think both of these models were created for Guitar Center.

Nice pair of basses there, Motorhall. Yes, you're right. Both were GC exclusives. I have one of the Sunburst 60th Anniversary P's.
Almost sold my FSR.........
I was gassing for another bass really bad. I had my FSR for sale here on TB and my local CL. The more I thought about it I just couldn't sell it. I love my FSR. Besides how would it look if the founder of the FSR Club sold his FSR.
On another note, have any of you changed the knobs on your FSR? I think I'd like to put on some wooden knobs that match the wood on my bass.
