Fender FSR question

It's funny that you can buy a FSR at 399USD (supposedly) in the US, while it's at least 15-1700USD in Europe, and considered a rarity if it's made in a batch of f ex 150. Used, they sell for the same as new ones!
 
Mine was twice that price one week ago, and an American Standard Precision Bass. Speaks and sounds and plays 100% USA Fender. Nice fat smooth yet transparent Jazzfunk-monster-ish which is how I like my bass :-)
