Hey all! My memory is failing me. At some point the 62 reissue pickups used in the AVRI basses had beveled pole pieces. I do not remember them being beveled on the Fullerton and very early (pre-90's) Corona basses. True or false? I am at the age where this could go either way and I won't be shocked.

Then my memory has held! That is how I remembered it. I have a late 80's reissue and the pickup is unmarked black bobbins with flat pole pieces. The body is for sure Fullerton leftovers (because it has the router bump and countours) and I am pretty sure the neck is leftover Fullerton stock as well but I just could not confirm if the pickup was original. It sure looked original but then I couldn't remember if the poles should be beveled.

Hi Fender Fullerton Reissue TBers. I have my all original 1983 Fender Fullerton '62 Reissue Precision listed for sale here on TB. It's in fantastic condition. I wanted to make sure the TBers in this Fullerton Club know, in case anyone is looking for one of these. I recently got a stupid screaming deal on a nasty stripped 62 reissue from 83'. It had a swapped out pickguard, pickups, electronics, the decal was flaking off. The body was gross and stripped to the sealer coat, but neck finish still there. Since it was basically just the neck and body I did a total overhaul on it. Sprayed some Oxford burgundy mist, added a 63 mint guard, Kloppmann pickups, an oldfret decal I had from years ago, even darkened the fretboard and added clay dots because why not. I still need to do a little finish aging, but it turned out pretty awesome and actually plays\sounds killer! Has the really flat wide neck and sounds (looks) just like my old basses with La Bella flats.

For more details this is my 62 reissue. The neck markings and pots date to 87. The logo is in the early Corona position. I am determining what about it is leftover stock. In 87 they were working largely from already made Fullerton stock. The body is totally Fullerton because it has all of the identifiers AND its in LBP which I am not positive was an option in the early Corona ones. The pickup also matches a Fullerton although has no markings or dates. Gotta love Fender. The neck profile is identical to all of my Fullertons but I assumed it wasn't but now that I am looking I think it might be. I just am curious. Nothing changes this from being an 87.

Yeah I was trying to determine if mine was showing a slight arch. It seems like it but its not as defined as those above. I really don't care because its dated as an 87 and is clearly not early 80's in that way just curious if its leftover stock like the rest of it. 85-87 resissues are not super common and I am guessing that most of them were entirely leftover stock. I don't remember when Corona officially opened but I think it was 88 or 89. Most Fender's made during that time were MIJ

Hello, club.

It's quiet in here so I thought I'd stir it up.
I've been enjoying my Fullerton '62 RI lately and looking back on pics I saw this inspection tag.

I know that 19-0116 is the model but what about the -5? I thought maybe the color but then saw that 3 color sunburst code is 500.

Any thoughts?
