Question for those who know: If the Fender GL is supposed to be a faithful reproduction of Geddy's '72 jazz bass down to the sanded-thin neck, why do they make it with a 9.5" fretboard radius if--and correct me if I am wrong--Fender's standard at the time was 7.25"?
Not that I'm complaining -- I just bought a CIJ GL and it really smokes. But I'm curious why they missed that one detail. Kind of makes me think of the JB75 that was so detailed as to have a three-bolt neck but somehow missed the most defining feature of 70s Jazzes, the pickup spacing...
