Asking help from you Fender gurus. Found this Pbass at a great price; seller says it’s a USA made in the eighties. Is it the real deal?

    Thank you guys!

No string thru and neck adjustment is not at the heel. I would say pass, but I am no expert.

Don't thank me yet. I'm usually wrong (just ask my ex). The experts should be here shortly. They are likely typing up dissertations for you now. Please hold.

No, that looks to be a fake. When I ran the serial in guitar dater project.org it came up: "Serial number unrecognized, please verify that the correct number is correct." The tuners are wrong, and the neck has headstock truss rod access which is also wrong. The domed knobs are wrong and also wrong size. Finish is cheaply done, and the back is black instead of sunburst. This looks to be a Squier which are commonly used to counterfeit USA Fenders.

Not an expert, but I’d say that it’s no Fender. Burst front but not back, 7-screw bridge, pickguard shape by the output jack, headstock shape, import tuners, decal all look suspect to me.

Yep. Many, many "red flags" for the seller to clarify here.

Bogus bass alert. Lol to the body contour decal on back of headstock instead of the front.

Did you really have to run that against known serials to know what it wasn’t?

All the decals look off, the body looks like edge roundovers are off, the bridge looks goofy for some reason, the back is black, the neck plate doesnt look right either.

It's not an MIJ either. Serial would be on the front and that's just for starters as to what's wrong with this bass.

It's not a Fender of any kind at all. It's not even a re-decal'd Squier. Decals are wrong, headstock shape is BADLY wrong, bridge is wrong, and I've never seen a Fender that had the front with a burst and solid black on the back.

ETA: the neck wood is Chinese maple. And not even a good example thereof.
