No, not at all, but you always want to run the number to see what turns up. Guitar Dater isn't perfect but it never hurts to check. Some counterfeiters use legitimate serials copied off other instruments or images.

Fender Gurus - Does this Pbass looks legit?

I didn’t say that it was an MIJ or didn’t mean that anyway.
If it was a correct serial number, then that’s what it would go to.
The serial number would be incorrect for an American Fender was the point that I intended to make.
Completely fake. Wrong front decal, wrong back decal, wrong truss access, wrong tuners, made in China 7 hole bridge.
To echo what others have said, avoid at all costs. Headstock shape is wrong, I haven’t seen that decal used on an MIA bass, serial number is incorrect for its age and possibly for any year, seven acre bridge, and the back of the body is a different color than the front which is certainly a new one lol.

Yep.. Fake, but would be interesting to play it thru a good amp. You maybe surprised on how it plays and sounds.
I have a Chi-Com 5 string cheap bass that I did a full setup with PW strings. It will go toe to toe with with my Sire V7. The ( 9volt pre ) is as good as the Sire 18volt. In reality, the wood and hardware is still CHEAP !!

I was thinking maybe an original HWY 1, USA with the truss rod adjustment in the head. But I don't think so as the original (I have a Jazz HWY 1) started with the Fender Spaghetti logo like what they use on the recent USA standards. Also the date would be out of wack!

Oh and also....that is faker than fake fake fake. I'm not really an expert like some TBers here, but damn, that's fake. So many things jumped out immediately in the first photos. There are so many things wrong with that bass as advertised.

The headstock shape is off, that round knob at the end of the headstock is usually a bit sharper and more circular in shape, the string retainer on the headstock looks off, usually with American fenders the truss rod access is at the heel of the neck, not the headstock. The burst is also only on the front of the body, I don't know if that is a check in the box but it looks suspect to me.
The proportions on the letter on the face of the headstock look incorrect to me. Although I'm not enough of an expert to declare this bass a fake, I would regard it with deep suspicion.
