fender jaguar bass guitar

I had one about a year ago and loved the sound and looks...except the neck dive really turned me off. I tried to fix that with different tuners and a new bridge, but ultimately grew too frustrated with it to persevere. Man I wish Fender had taken more care with that neck dive, I'd own TWO of those bad boys by now if they did.

I love my jaguar. Switched to using it pretty exclusively these days. It has all the right boom and is very friendly on the hands. While it is a 'glorified' j-bass, the onboard preamp gives it a nice round sound that is adjustable to almost any scenereo. My only complain about it is that the rolling tone controls on the upper horn constantly get moved by my wrist when I play up on the neck. I've fixed that issue with a little peice of duct tape on top of them (after I adjust my tone properly).

The jag is a sexy bass, tell the friend to make sure they have a wide padded strap though, it can be a heavy toll on my shoulder.

Got one. Great bass. Feels like a Fender with a really nice neck. Looks cool, too.

I prefer mine passive, but that's the way I am. There can be a grounding buzz, but this was literally a ten minute fix in my case. Sounds good, but there is no blend knob and only a single volume. I think the Jag has a very workable set of controls and a wide variety of tones, but a jass bass guy might miss the dual volumes.

This bass is on my "highly recommended" list. I don't like the price of them new, but again, that's the way I am.

EDIT: I've never noticed any neck dive on mine. My jazz bass dives a little though, and I've got a P that dives a little too (the body is ridiculously light), and I'm not sensitive too sensitive to this.

The neck dive is there buts its not noticebale. Youll notice it a bit if you hold the bass high up

anybody looking for one. special deal today at musicians friend, the fender friday call-in sale. fender jag, any color plus fender bdec practice combo, 499!!!!!! the number is 1-800-391-8762. i was ecstatic when i heard about it, and ive got a hot rod red one on the way now, and i think my dad got an olympic white. i just thought i would post this one, hopefully it will make somebody really happy. :) thanks tb

I absolutely love mine, have it in olympic white and it just feels perfect to me, came from a thunderbird so if some people consider the jaguar heavy try a t-bird! and mine has no neck dive at all, might be because I play it lower but it really is a great bass.

Oh man. Thanks for the tip, but it's showing up as $599 in my cart. Still not a bad deal, especially if I can flip the BDEC for a few hundred locally...
